Air National Guard Units TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Summary This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number NGD1960000 and is part of 114 LGR SQ. This is a permanent Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: - All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to join. Responsibilities As a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-11, you will: This position is located in the Distribution Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Distribution Manager, which provides technical expertise and support relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime. Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes deployment and distribution management programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Service members in the rank of MSgt - CMSgt are eligible to apply. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Work involves developing policies and administering the management of traffic programs, plans and directs traffic operations within the program and performs necessary technical work involved in obtaining economical and efficient transportation of equipment, supplies, and personnel in support of these operations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) listed. Experience, education, or training performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States). Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of a wide range of traffic management policies, principles and practices as well as an in-depth knowledge of commercial traffic management activities. Knowledge of industry practices and procedures and established regulations, requirements, and techniques related to the transportation program. Knowledge of organizational practices and activities and skill in applying this knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments, and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve transportation issues or problems. Knowledge of financial/budgetary requirements sufficient to perform monthly reconciliation of all charges associated with the transportation program.
