The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Specialist collaborates with the Global DE&I Manager in the design, development, and implementation of global DE&I programs and initiatives. The role is critical in advancing Swagelok’s people-first, values-driven culture and fostering an inclusive environment that meets diverse needs. The DE&I specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and coordination of programs that focus on diversity, inclusion, and equity across the associate lifecycle. This position will support Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) in their alignment with the overall DE&I priorities. This role frequently consults with HR and the business to design integrated programming that supports the organization’s needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Manager, Global DE&I and key partners (Corporate Communications, HRBPs, Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employer Brand, Community Engagement, and others) to implement and support the enhancement of DE&I initiatives.

  • Coordinates and supports Associate Resource Group (ARGs) activitiesto ensure alignment with overall business strategy, collaborating across various departments. Works closely with Global Human Resources to maintain and disseminate DE&I resources to educate leaders and associates across all business areas.

  • Responsible for coordinating DE&I efforts related to internal and external initiatives in support of broader organizational efforts.

  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships to advance diversity-building partnerships in the markets we do business.

  • Uses change management processes and tools to facilitate sustainable change within the organization.

  • Keeps abreast of changes and trends in DE&I, engagement, and community, surfacing meaningful recommendations for improvements that will positively impact the organization and its culture.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Required:

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business, Education or related degree

Experience: 5 years of professional work experience including 3+ years experience in DE&I, Organizational Development, engagement, HR or other related field

Preferred:

Education : Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology

Experience : Prior experience designing and delivering DE&I programs in a large organization. 5+ years preferred. Experience in the following areas highly preferred:

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

  • Familiarity in the selection and application of DE&I and associate and community engagement techniques, processes, and tools to improve organizational culture (e.g., communities of practice, knowledge management, wiki’s, blogs, social networking analysis and tools, collaboration tools, expert finders, etc.).

  • Knowledge and understanding of business and human resources principles and a working knowledge of the theories and principles of talent management, DE&I, and organization development.

  • Ability to build capabilities in groups and/or specific individuals in core subject matter expertise such as talent and performance strategies, change strategies, etc.

Working Condistions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Working conditions associated with normal office environment.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.

  • Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.

  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
