Janssen Biologics B.V. in Leiden is looking for a (Associate) Manufacturing operator for the Bioprocessing Technology department. The work is carried out in shifts 16/7

What you will be doing:

The Associate Manufacturing Technician is in training to perform the core tasks and supporting, routine activities in the Bioprocessing Technology department. The tasks are initially carried out under the supervision of an experienced (Senior) Manufacturing Technician. If the Associate Manufacturing Technician demonstrably masters a task well, it may be done independently, without supervision.

After a period of training, promotion to Manufacturing Technician is possible when the Associate Manufacturing Technician has fully performed the core tasks for 6 consecutive months.

You will be performing a sufficiently large range of tasks that enables the operator to carry out work on a daily basis. This task package is determined by the Manufacturing Supervisor and discussed with the employee and trainer prior to the training.

Once fully-fledged you will act independently and fully in accordance with the cGMP, EHSS and PE standards.

What impact will you also have:

  • Your core task is to supply different types of media or buffers to customers, including:

  • Weighing raw materials

  • Preparing the preparation

  • Preparation

  • In Process Testing (including osmo, PH, conductivity, LAL)

  • Filtration

  • Filter testing

  • SAP / GLims

  • Cleaning of systems (CIP, SIP)

In addition, you will also support routine work such as:

  • maintaining documentation and computer systems

  • “basic asset care”: ensuring the cleanliness (5S), maintenance and organization of the spaces and equipment

  • sampling

  • use of the available Lean systems

CGMP, EHS&S, EN LEAN

The work is carried out under strict cGMP conditions. The operator ensures a safe, healthy and sustainable working environment. The execution of tasks, the organization of the work and the continuous improvement of efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cGMP and EHSS compliance are supported by Lean techniques and concepts. The operator has good knowledge of cGMP, EHSS and Lean, at the level appropriate for this position, is trained in the internal procedures and always follows these, as well as other internal standards. The Associate Manufacturing Operator identifies shortcomings and opportunities for improvement. He/she occasionally carries out improvement initiatives that are practical in nature and do not require support from other departments.

Qualifications

We would love to hear from you, if you have the following qualification:

  • Minimum education level of Process technology at MBO 2 level

  • No previous work experience is required, but some is preferred

  • English skills in speaking and reading, Dutch knowledge is a nice to have

  • Ability to work precisely and accurately, following instructions and standards closely. Knowing when to ask for help from others.

  • Showing respect and listening to others, contributing own ideas. Being aware of own behavior and its effect on others. Acting based on team and department interests.

  • Being open to feedback, learning from mistakes, taking initiative to improve own work.

  • Being open to change, improvement, innovation.
