Carnival Cruise Line Senior Business Analyst - Shore technology - 12 month FTC in Southampton, United Kingdom

Job Description

We recognise the value in having people with a variety of backgrounds, experience, and skills in our business. That means the role requirements here should be seen as a guide, not a checklist. If you have more, less, or different experiences, but really relevant skills, we’d love to hear from you.

We work flexibly and will help you to find a healthy balance of remote working and time in our fantastic Southampton office, collaborating, taking part in events, and getting to know people that makes working with us so rewarding. We welcome the opportunity to discuss reduced hours and job share arrangements.

The Role

We are looking to welcome a Senior Business Analyst to join our Shore Technology team on a 12 month FTC. The purpose of the Senior Business Analyst role is to reduce risk in delivery and to maximise the return that Carnival UK receives from its investments in change.

The Senior Business Analyst (BA) achieves this by ensuring that stakeholders have a shared understanding of the changes being delivered. The Senior BA builds this shared understanding to a level of detail and completeness sufficient to form a sound basis for design, business impact and test activities.

You Will

  • Lead Business Analysis activity within products and projects, ensuring that outcomes, scope and requirements are captured, reviewed and baselined for large, complex initiatives.

  • Accountable for effectively challenging scope and complexity to increase benefits / delivery pace and decrease cost of delivery

  • Understand and effectively apply appropriate requirements definition and management methods, tools and techniques based on the context of the work (i.e.agile or waterfall).

  • Organises and prioritises requirements using techniques such as user stories, epics, business rules, requirement statements and business processes

  • Play a role in setting the standards that the team work to and coaching others. Where assigned to lead where there are multiple workstreams or multiple BAs, define ways of working, organise and coordinate this work.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK08 and is offered on a full time, fixed term basis, with hybrid working 3 days per week in our Southampton office.

About You

Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need:

  • Extensive experience performing Business Analysis activities (solution requirements and business change) within large, complex portfolios of delivery that include an IT component

  • Fully familiar with industry standard Business Analysis techniques and their application

  • Experience working within an Agile environment

  • A demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders

Being part of our team has its advantages…
