Responsibilities:
- Provision of direct care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Assists in the assessment and monitoring of patients' conditions and therapeutic needs. Responsible for the provision of direct care to patients to assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADL) including elimination, nutritional needs, mobility and emotional support.
- Accurate completion of vital sign flow sheets, charges for supplies and other duties deemed within their scope of practice.
- Knowledge of BLS protocols in code situations, pain management, wound care, and performance of patient assessments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Requires immediate judgment and response; occasionally in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills.
Requirements:
Completion of a Nurse Aide training program required.
3-5- years of inpatient/medical assistant experience strongly required.
