JOB REQUIREMENTS: Do you have knowledge of septic systems, soils, or land zoning ordinances and have an interest in their enforcement? If so, Monroe County\'s Sanitation & Zoning Department might have the job for you. We\'re hiring for a full-time Sanitation & Zoning Specialist. Our Sanitation & Zoning Specialist provides uniform enforcement of private septic system and land use regulations. This includes the inspection of soil tests and septic system installations, review and issuance of sanitary permits and applicable administrative permits, monitoring compliance and investigating alleged violations of the Land Zoning, Shoreland, Floodplain, and Sanitation Utilities ordinances. This position is responsible for educating, explaining, and providing technical assistance to customers and stakeholders on code and ordinance requirements. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: One year of land use/zoning or sanitary ordinance enforcement related experience is desired. CST certification and POWTS inspector\'s license must be obtained within first year of employment. A valid Wisconsin driver\'s license is required.
