Phlebotomy Supervisor ensures the daily work of the Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and In-office Phlebotomy (IOPs) are completed accurately and on time. Responsibilities include overseeing and conducting a variety of administrative functions such as scheduling, timekeeping (with the Leads), and maintaining budget; handling all personnel issues including performance reviews and necessary disciplinary actions; ensuring specimen integrity by enforcing the laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling and processing; identifying and facilitating process improvement activities; maintaining quality client services through efficient organization of all activities; maintaining a safe and professional environment for patients, clients and employees and writing and maintaining policies and procedures according to CAP and Incyte standards. 75,879.00 - 110,026.00 USD Annual You Will: Provide leadership and supervise staff in assigned locations: develop leadership skills of phlebotomy leads. Coordinate the work of phlebotomists in the assigned PSCs and IOPs to assure that production is consistent and service levels are maintained. Serve as a backup to the Leads, will review and approve time/attendance entries. Assist in managing the employee hiring process with the Clinical Laboratory Director. Supervise employee and team performance, new employee orientation processes, employee training and continuing education.Manage employee performance by coaching, counseling, motivating, and evaluating employees on a continual basis. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Develop schedules for all locations to ensure minimal overtime in conjunction with the Leads. Fill in to provide coverage for phlebotomists at varying locations as needed. Perform site visits to PSCs and IOPs as needed: meet with all employees quarterly. Assist in the setup of new PSCs and IOPs. Adhere to all Incyte compliance policies and understands and follows all HIPAA guidelines. Assist in developing quality improvement metrics to monitor performance in all the PSCs and IOPs. Maintain the quality metric measures in the Incyte Quality Assurance documents. Attend monthly Quality Improvement meetings. Maintain and determine usage of department supplies and inventory. Maintain and assist in developing department budget. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Certifications High school diploma or equivalent, required: 2-year degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences, preferred. Minimum five (5) years related experience in specimen collection and processing required. MA-P Certification required, by WA state Dept. of Health (active and current - proof of document will be required. as part of background) 2+ years supervisory experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required. Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of office and laboratory equipment. Multi-task efficiently and effectively and exhibit excellent listening skills.
