Newpark Resources Inc. Mgr Tax Sr in Spring, Texas
- Responsible for the quarterly and annual domestic income tax provision including preparation of the footnote disclosure in Forms 10Q and Form 10K.
- Monitor changes in federal, state and franchise tax laws to ensure all enacted laws are timely and accurately reported in the quarterly tax provisions.
- Responsible for overseeing and documenting all domestic SOX controls.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of tax basis balance sheets.
- Oversee domestic outsourcing of federal and state tax returns, extensions and estimated tax payments which includes the review of the returns as prepared by the outside service provider.
- Responsible for day to day management of all federal and state audit matters.
- Work with business operations and outside consultants to identify local tax incentives at the city and state levels pertaining to property taxes, payroll taxes, etc.
- Assist the Tax VP with domestic tax planning and tax research related to US tax reform, federal and state tax issues and other tax savings projects as needed.
- Identify and implement tax provision and tax compliance process improvements to streamline existing workflows.
- Assist Tax VP with domestic due diligence on acquisitions.
- Responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of tax fixed assets to book fixed assets.
- Responsible for overseeing annual R&D credit studies at the federal and state levels including developing and presenting an annual training to the business operation teams on activities that qualify for the credit.
- Supervise, train and develop tax staff.
