HP Inc. Program Strategist, Mergers & Acquisitions (MADO), Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Solutions (CREWS) in Spring, Texas

As a Mergers & Acquisition Program Strategist, you will apply your real estate leadership, strategic planning, financial, capital markets and influencing skills to develop and implement strategies that successfully integrate new businesses and staff into the HP Workplace environment. This is a program management role.

Responsibilities and Characteristics

  • Creates strategies for real estate in support of Merger, Acquisition, Disposition, Outsourcing (MADO) initiatives and advises deal teams as to real estate considerations, risks and opportunities.

  • Develops strategic real estate plans, tactics to implement, assesses transaction viability and advises colleagues regarding the global real estate portfolio including finance, legal, tax, government affairs, EHS, corporate communications, and treasury.

  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives while applying innovative principles and ideas. Fulfills the role of functional manager within CREWS but does not manage other employees as a primary job function; however, leads colleagues and contractor in the conduct of duties.

  • Ensures the needs of the business are understood, coordinating with other functions, then interprets complex analyses, exercising independent judgment and integrating the needs to present, propose and recommend approaches and solutions to senior management.

  • Engage with the Corporate Development team, the Integration Management Office and CREWS' partners to identify opportunities and requirements related to M&A initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain master schedule of activities, engagements, and deliverables required to support acquisition and integration plans.

  • Establish engagements and complete due diligence with CREWS teams and partner organizations to ensure clear understanding of the existing conditions, requirements, reporting and tracking of actual progress-to-plan including rationalization and variance analyses.

  • Lead communications and reporting efforts between CREWS, its Partner organizations, and the HP Integration Management office / Corporate Development functions.

  • Identify risks to execution; establish and direct remediation plans as necessary.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee metrics, dashboards, and management reports as may be required.

  • Review and revise procedures and playbooks to improve M&A related capabilities within CREWS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in real estate or finance: Master's degree in finance or MBA preferred

  • 7+ years of corporate real estate experience: 2+ years prior M&A within related to real estate or capital market role or corporate development and exposure to international portfolio or portfolio planning role;

  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and capable of working with limited guidance

  • Deep understanding of real estate dynamics and modelling practices, including familiarity with mobility concepts, alternative work-based environments, tax and treasury implications

  • Expertise storytelling, synthesizing the complex to simple ideas upon which to decide and act

  • Generally have large country or sub-region responsibilities. Global experience or exposure preferred

  • Superior communication, negotiation, selling, strategy development, and influencing skills; excellent relationship management capability.

  • Expert computer and analytical skills for program typically used in real estate.

  • Approachable, available, focused, present, collaborative, listen with empathy, complete actions within time and cost constraints.

  • Able to 'Create the Formula' and ask better questions to understand a situation, create the strategy and options, and tell the story of how success is achieved, then execute on it once approved.

  • Proven ability to engage your colleagues to support their creation of sub-strategies to enable the site strategy while interacting in a courteous while conveying ideas in a concise and simple manner.

  • Must anticipate what must be accomplished with buffer for changing circumstances, needs and business dynamics.

  • Ensure the strategy and analysis is compete, accurate and supports your recommendation.

  • Maintain a cooperative, humble yet knowledgeable approach to support colleagues in their success.

  • Seeks clarity and understanding of motivations and requirements to build a strong relationship with vendors, contractors, colleagues and customers.

  • Mastery of English required along with excellent written and verbal communications.
