Job Description Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grit/Shot/Thermal Technician to join STAC team.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing grit blasting, shot peening, and thermal spray coating processes on aircraft and aerospace components preparing them for repair.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform grit blasting and shot peening processes on aircraft and aerospace components to remove corrosion, paint, and contaminants, and to induce compressive stresses to enhance fatigue life. Operate the blasting and peening equipment, including cleaning, calibrating, and replacing nozzles, hoses. Monitor and control parameters, such as pressure, flow rate, and nozzle distance, to ensure optimal results and compliance with industry specifications.

  • Apply thermal spray coatings, such as thermal barrier coatings (TBC), anti-corrosion coatings, and wear-resistant coatings, on aircraft and aerospace components to improve surface properties and performance. Monitor and control thermal spray parameters, such as temperature, feed rate, and spray distance, to ensure optimal coating quality and adhesion.

  • Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect both machines before use. Document and record process parameters, test results, findings, and observations.

  • Equipment and Inventory Management: Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance. Monitor and manage inventory levels of abrasive media, consumables, and spare parts.

  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Associates degree or High School diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.

  • 2+ years of grit blast and thermal spray experience.

Desired Characteristics :

  • Must be able to read, write with strong oral and written communication skills in English.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be able to stand/walk and lift engine parts.
