The work ENSCO does helps to prevent train derailments which can have serious impacts on human life, the environment and the economy. ENSCO is looking for an experienced Operations Engineer.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Deploy and configure applications on client systems as needed and when required, prioritizing quality of the configured applications.

• Prioritize and handle critical incidents, including major outages or service disruptions.

• Investigate complex technical issues escalated from Monitoring tools or Field support. Analyze logs, system performance data, and network traces to identify root causes.

• Administer document management system, ensuring timely and accurate provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and access rights.

• Automate recurring manual tasks, with scripts and documentation.

• Maintain/manage Applications lifecycle (e.g. deployments and decommissions)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents promptly Document incident details, resolutions, and lessons learned.

• Monitor project systems for security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

• Act as the liaison and engage with vendors to troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, or services.

• Ensure timely communication and follow-up on vendor escalations.

• Identify recurring issues and work with field support to implement preventive measures.

• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

• Work closely with field support and other teams.

• Provide clear and concise updates to stakeholders during incident resolution.

• Willing to support on call, during off hours and weekends.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience in implementing/maintaining (CI/CD) systems and source control migration.

• Solid understanding of Desktop applications, with a willingness to support configuring and testing.

• Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python scripting and SQL.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

• Strong critical thinking and root cause identification skills.

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.

• Strong knowledge of system security measures and data backup/recovery techniques.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast pasted environment

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex systems in layman's terms.

• Capacity to work independently and take initiative.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Knowledge of AWS cloud services

• Ability to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway cars. *
