Emerson Regional Category Leader- Metals and Molded Parts in Stafford, Texas

If you are a Commodity Leader professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This role could be based out of Stafford, TX, McKinney, TX, or the Tulsa, OK location, and will support the North America MFG. sites including two plants in Mexico. In this role you will encompass sourcing activities for a Category of strategic purchases for a site or a group of sites at Emerson. The Strategic categories will be Rubber, Metals, and Molded parts for Americas region, such as diaphragms, soft goods, nameplates, plastic parts, fasteners, springs, and raw materials. The position will report to a Regional Category Manager, Metals and Molded Parts, Americas.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Complete annual plan and 3-5 years' strategic plans for Diaphragms, Metals, and Molded parts

  • Supervise the management of key part suppliers in Americas through periodic suppliers review and the established rapport

  • Drive continuous improvement programs with focus on quality, service levels, and lead times

  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers for long-term agreements or cost containment projects

  • Perform quarterly reviews of supplier's SWOT on overall performance and supply risk

  • Understand cost drivers for respective categories and provide updated market intelligence to Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management

  • Identify improvement opportunities within Pressure Management and other Emerson sites

  • Be the Pressure Management regional representative for the category and resolve conflicts with suppliers

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Finance, Operations, Technical, or Business

  • Minimum 5 years functional experience in either Supply Chain, Engineer, Finance, or Operations

  • Extensive project and change management experience; history with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Excellent negotiation skills with contract management

  • Excel - sophisticated skills with pivot tables, and data manipulation and interpretation

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in e-Sourcing (reverse auction)

  • Proficient in English Additional language (Spanish preferred)

  • Expertise of spend analytics methodologies and standard process implementation

  • Experience in implementing supplier improvement programs

  • Professional understanding of the respective category market (i.e. plastics and nameplates) and key cost drivers
