Job Description

We are currently seeking a Manager, Demand Planning who will be responsible for creating the most accurate Customer Demand Plan for their respective list of customers. This person will work with Field Sales and understand all of their specific customer demand drivers and utilize predictive modeling with causal factor inputs to ensure the most accurate volume forecast is captured in the Integrated Business Planning system at the customer/product level. S/he will continuously improve baseline and incremental demand accuracy adjusting the models through ongoing reviews of the business for all lines of business including Domestic Water and International Brands.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and execute the collaborative demand planning process for assigned Customers and drive improvement in forecast error.

  • Shared responsibility for creating, maintaining and enhancing the predictive models utilized in forecasting customer demand.

  • Acquire a deep understanding of the demand drivers at select customers and ensure that the models are calibrated as needed.

  • Recalibrate forecast models periodically by analyzing predictions vs. actuals sales patterns and making appropriate model revisions.

  • Utilize and measure key Category, Marketing and Customer information as inputs to the statistical forecast models.

  • Remedy routine processing issues and escalate all other issues to supervisor as needed.

  • Share best practices in order to elevate the Demand Planning Accuracy for the entire team.

  • Respond to inquiries from Supply and Business teams. Key Contacts (Internal and External) Internal: Supply Chain, Information Technology, Retail Sales, Customer Development, Brand Marketing teams External: Data suppliers (i.e. Nielsen, Circana), business/analytics consultants

Qualifications

Key qualifications include:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Finance or related field. Completed courses in Probability, Regression, Linear Models and Time Series is a strong plus.

  • 3+ years related experience preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry

  • Prefer experience in customer demand planning and/or supply demand planning with a strong understanding of demand drivers, advanced demand planning software and information flow (e.g. SAP, SAS, Trade Promotion Management, Customer Demand Planning, Supply Demand Planning, and Financial Reporting).

  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAS Driven Planning and Optimization (DDPO) or R code.

  • Experience with IBP/SAP APO is a plus.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an orientation to detail, accuracy and completeness while understanding high level concepts.

  • Team oriented approach to work.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to self-manage and to make one's own decisions.

  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
