TheStanford Center on Early Childhood, an initiative of theStanford Accelerator for Learning, seeks a full time Senior Coordinator to join our team. The Senior Coordinator will work under the direction of the Community Program Manager to implement and administer the vision, strategy, and goals of the Zaentz Fellows Program, a new fellowship for master’s students in the Graduate School of Education who are pursuing goals related to early childhood education.

Note: This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment that may be renewed based on performance and funding. This position is eligible for a hybrid work agreement and limited travel may be required for convenings and events. POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Community Program Manager to implement the SCEC’s new Zaentz Fellows Program for Master’s students in the Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE). The Zaentz Fellows Program seeks to strengthen the pipeline for and cultivate the next generation of early childhood leaders. Fellows participate in programming focused on early childhood development, policy, leadership and being agents of change and are provided opportunities for networking and capstone projects focused on early childhood. Fellows receive partial tuition scholarships and stipends for the duration of the fellowship.

While the Senior Coordinator will be supervised by the Community Program Manager, they will work closely with the GSE’s Academic Affairs team to develop and coordinate the Zaentz Fellows Program. The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and administering the program, ensuring that project timelines and goals are met for all aspects of the program including recruitment, launch, and other key milestones, and building community and peer support among and between the fellows. Responsibilities will include management of all program logistics, working with the GSE Academic Affairs office on recruitment, application, funding and programming ; working with GSE Master’s Program Directors to develop and implement the program, ; developing and implementing communications and outreach for the program; acting as the primary point of contact for Fellows; arranging networking events at least annually; and working closely with the SCEC Operations and Finance Team to execute agreements and ensure that all logistical and administrative needs of the program are met. The Senior Coordinator will also work closely with the Senior Coordinator of the Community Fellowship Program to support the coordination of that fellowship as needed.

The person in this role must be able to work well in a matrixed and complex environment, as this role will work across multiple units and be accountable to various stakeholders, including SCEC managers, deans in the Academic Affairs Office, and the Master’s Program Directors. Given this is a new program, the Senior Coordinator must be comfortable with ambiguity, adapt to changing requirements, respond well to feedback and take ownership and initiative to identify and solve issues. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational, communication and project management skills as well as experience working in academic contexts and the ability to establish authentic and collaborative engagement with students, faculty, and academic staff.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work agreement, with 3-4 days on campus. During sometimes of the year, presence on campus may be required 5 days a week. A small amount of travel may be required.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

● Oversee and administer program activities by evaluating programs, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and coordinating and implementing changes.

● Collect and analyze data on Zaentz master’s fellowship program, create reports, review and explain trends to determine program effectiveness; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the programs.

● Assist in the administration of Zaentz Fellows programming. Advise in the development of programming. Make recommendations for program improvements.

● Write and edit content for program activities under the general direction of the Community Program Manager, working closely with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

● Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the unit and develop communications for internal and external constituencies. Organize and/or participate in outreach activities such as events, partnerships, fundraising, training, and conferences.

● Lead workshops and facilitate meetings.

● Work with the Operations and Finance Director and the Academic Affairs deans to monitor expenses, budgets, and finances of the program. Make recommendations on funding based on program spend.

● May oversee and train student workers.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

● Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. Program administration and or research experience may be required.

● Followed by Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

o Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

o Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.

Preferred Education & Experience:

● Ability to develop and enhance relationships with students, faculty, and academic staff

● Experience working in the fields of early childhood development, policy, or education

● Experience developing and fostering community and/or networks

● Experience working in academic environments

● Excellent organizational skills

● Excellent project management skills

The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 to $99,000 per annum.
