Job Description

Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating, and making tool adjustments for various types of manual machine shop equipment. Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metals and plastics to precision dimensions. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

Job Duties

Adhere to policy and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Normally follows established procedures on routine work requires instructions only on new assignments. Act as a champion of the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs. Complete work orders on schedule to ensure a constant flow of finished product to support customer service levels. Advise management of adverse manufacturing and/or equipment conditions and issues that are affecting production and /or safety. Operate machinery and precision measurement equipment to manufacture molded parts and materials used in the production of ultrasound transducers. Identify overdue or potentially overdue work orders and alert managers. Constantly review current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Recommend changes to eliminate waste and to promote cost reductions without sacrificing quality

Job Requirements

Education: High School Degree or Equivalent; Trade School or Associate’s Degree preferred

Experience: 1-2 years experience working in a lean manufacturing environment a plus; CNC background required

Skills: Have good manual dexterity; Computer skills and literacy a plus; Strong attention to detail; Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously; Strong verbal communication skills; Enjoy contributing to a diverse manufacturing group; Be a Team Player; Must be a highly organized self-managed individual who works with minimum supervision and the ability to work in a fast paced environment; Able to lift 20 pounds
