We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer II within the Collins Missions Systems business unit in the Simulation and Training Solutions (STS) C4ISR portfolio. STS builds simulation and training systems and products for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop trainers to high fidelity weapon system trainers.
This role will be performed Onsite at our Collins Aerospace Location in Sterling, VA.
What You Will Do
Works productively with different groups from Manufacturing staff to high leadership level
Capable of understanding and managing priorities on a daily basis
Knowledge of acrylic molding, robotic programming and painting processes
Lead Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and coordinate engineering design changes
Reviews Engineering designs/drawings for ease of Manufacturing and producibility before release shop floor to produce
Develops custom tooling to aid in the Manufacturing process
Liaison between engineering and Manufacturing. Reviewed real time production issues for either engineering redlines, production defects, or COTS defects
Represent Manufacturing and Operations in program leadership discussions
Collaborate with cross functional teams across the U.S. and the World
Provided manufacturing floor support by addressing questions and solving problems
Creates Manufacturing and Logistics packing work instructions
Candidate must ensure processes and procedures comply with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as well as all the applicable quality requirements
Identifies opportunities or implements changes, on a need basis, to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.
Must be able to perform cost estimates, work to schedules, and write procedures and policies
Must be able to review drawings and concepts and resolve producibility concerns, such as providing recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials
Must be able work well in an integrated product development team and design environment
Candidate will present to senior management on various topics, be involved with, and implement additional initiatives, such as ACE, Process Certification, Manufacturing Process Reviews, Lean Manufacturing and EH&S projects
Candidate must possess a positive attitude and be able to communicate well within an integrated product development team, staff and management

Qualifications You Must Have
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
