The mission of the Regional Sales Manager role is to achieve sales growth in a pre-defined geographic area through a combination of account management and new business development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Achieve defined sales targets as outlined in the Sales Plan

  • Visit prospects on average 80% of the working week

  • Work to achieve quotas and ad hoc targets as established by Director of Sales

  • Build and maintain a high standard of rapport with potential & existing customers through personal visits (minimum 250 per annum)

  • Manage key sales, contract & account retention relationships

  • Prepare and deliver presentations driven by the solution sales process.

  • Work to a plan with Director of Sales to actively seek new business

  • Pro-actively liaise with colleagues to maintain highest levels of service and customer satisfaction

  • Attend local / national conferences or exhibitions and make presentations to large audiences as requested by Director of Sales

  • Produce accurate call reports including action points within 24 hours of contact

  • Work with Director of Sales and Account Executive to prepare written proposals and quotes for customers

  • Achieve an expert level of knowledge of EBSCO products and competition.

  • Anticipate and recognise market needs and discuss with the Director of Sales

  • Research and initiate improvements to our service culture

  • Ensure that all administration associated with the role is completed in a timely manner

Essential Qualifications and Experiences

  • 5+ years of sales experience required

  • Previous travel experience and ability to travel 80%

  • Must live within the territory: Stockholm Sweden and Greater Metropolitan Area

  • Must have proven communication, follow-up, and sales skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Experiences

  • Experience from selling to higher education and knowledge sector preferred

  • Experience with SaaS and Information Service technologies a plus

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Ability to prioritise and territory management.

  • Cold calling experience

  • Must demonstrate strong initiative.

  • Knowledge of CRM systems and video conferencing technology
