Thomas Jefferson University Maintenance Technician Stationary Engineer (Relief/Night) in Stratford, New Jersey

1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
2. Operates and maintains boilers as well as chiller and auxiliary systems by reading meters/pressure gauges and taking necessary appropriate action to ensure safe operation. Repacks valves, changes piping, and lubricates compressors, pumps and related parts on a regular basis.
3. Starts, stops, adjusts and regulates boilers and associated equipment as necessary to insure efficiency and continuity of service

4. Cleans boilers, waterside and fire side, annually or as required, to meet code and regulation requirements.
5. Performs daily inspection of boilers, pipelines, and operating equipment for steam, water, air and fuel leaks or defective parts.

6. Maintains record of gages and meter readings to determine fuel and steam consumption, steam produced, hot water and chilled/condensed water temperature, chiller operating pressure, etc.
7. Consults with and keeps Lead/Chief Stationary Engineers apprised of activities, needs and issues as they arise.
8. Performs other maintenance needs as required and directed by the supervisor or lead technician.

High School Diploma, Vocational School, or equivalent. Pennsylvania Class A License required for most PA-based facilities. New Jersey Black Seal required for all NJ-based facilities.
