Northrop Grumman Marine Systems sector is seeking a Principal Project Manager for the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program located in Sunnyvale, CA. This position is full-time on-site.
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals through the analysis and management of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The Project Manager within the Conventional Launcher Systems (CLS) and Program Management Team is the primary customer point of contact for development, production, rapid fielding deliverable products.
Specific duties will include:
Manages all phases of program and project execution
Manages schedule for development, production, rapid fielding deliverable, and product upgrades along with budgets
Provides delivery projections to the customer along with frequent customer status reports
Assesses product issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
Communicates priorities for engineering development, production drawings, operations & procurement of material team members, quality inspectors, engineering, and shipping / receiving personnel
Supports or leads proposal / work scope development and contract negotiations
Communicates priorities for sub-tier supplier efforts and material purchasing
Provides upwards reporting for senior management program reviews
Participates in process improvement initiatives
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
Mastery of analysis and management of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and proficient user of MS Project
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines
Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as analytical, planning and presentation skills are required
Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
Experience with the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program
Salary Range: $91,200 - $136,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
