Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, Alexa Devices & Developer Technologies in Sunnyvale, California

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in the design of exciting new projects and overcome complex technical, business and customer experience challenges at scale. You will be a catalyst for effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple geographically separated groups delivering jointly on mission critical systems. You will contribute to our success with your hands-on project management skills, deep technical expertise, business knowledge, and excellent leadership and negotiation skills.

Key job responsibilities

You will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end across Alexa's devices and cloud services. You will collect business and system requirements, write specifications, manage budgets, create project plans, manage risk and program execution, and oversee production launches. You will anticipate bottlenecks, negotiate tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You will help deliver high-impact, highly visible customer experiences in a massively scalable and efficient manner.

You will connect the dots and help the team solve technology problems across cloud and device software engineering, for Alexa Devices and Developer Technologies.

About the team

Our team manages key transformative projects with a focus on a broader charter to scale our program and processes. As part of this mission, we work horizontally both across our internal teams and with external partners to identify opportunities to improve how we operate and deliver results for our customers across devices, cloud, science (ML) and SDK.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
