JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 20963 INTRODUCTION: Groundskeeper-Facilities Department Reports To: Facilities Manager POSITION: Groundskeeper, FP026, Full-time 100%, University Staff, 12-month renewable/ongoing, three vacancies POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains and landscapes lawns, planting beds, fields, and other public spaces. Inspects grounds to ensure conditions meet institutional grounds keeping standards. DUTIES: Installs, propagates, and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment. Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding. Identifies and acts to remedy plant diseases and insect damage. May monitor and apply chemicals and fertilizers as needed. Maintains clean and clear lawns, walkways, roadways, and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice. Operate a variety of power equipment and light vehicles Operate power mowers and trimmers to maintain laws Operate power equipment including end loaders, pickup trucks, power brooms, snowblowers etc. to remove snow from walks, parking lots, and driveways. Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections on mowers, trucks, plows, tractors, and related equipment. Perform a variety of general labor and grounds keeping duties. To include: -Perform clean up duties such as sweeping broken glass and other debris from lots, picking up papers, etc. -Perform grounds work such as loading trucks, digging and backfilling trenches and sodding. -Install traffic and informational signs on campus -Clean grounds equipment areas -Move furniture and other miscellaneous equipment -Hand shovels snow where necessary -Install and repair chain link fencing -Construct forms and rough finish poured concrete -Maintain/stripe athletic fields -Maintain athletic turf fields -Plant or prune shrubs and trees STARTING DATE: As soon as possible ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: For additional information about UW-Superior, visit www.uwsuper.edu; For additional information about this position, contact search support Daniel Fuller at dfuller1@uwsuper.edu. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.
