Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues and substance abuse. With over 100 locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strengths and choices. Our Suburban Behavioral Health Services Region at our Delaware County, Pennsylvania location. is seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to fill our Part time opening within our Supported Living Services program. This position is based in our Delaware County office. The Program Assistant is responsible for the daily operations of the Supported Living Services program through providing administrative services and support.

This position was created to Provide general clerical support and assistance including typing, filing, record keeping, phone coverage, reception, coordinating schedules and appointments, inter and intra- agency communications and other related office procedures.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of program activities and services, including transporting and accompanying participants on community activities.

  • Compile data and reports reflecting service delivery activities and related expenditures for management staff review.

  • Distribute important/confidential mailings and document distribution to and from the program. Will serve as a courier for the peer support center, as needed.

  • Assist in the maintenance of program/department general operating, client and staff files.

  • Collect agency, staff and client information and disseminate such information through established procedures, on behalf of the program.

Job Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills, competency in Microsoft Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint programs, ability to use Internet.

  • Minimum word processing speed of 40wpm, strong written and oral communications skills and must be detail oriented

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 2 years of prior secretarial experience or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Scope:

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time.

  • Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity.

  • Frequent talking and listening.

  • Must be available for travel.
