Hyatt Event Sales Executive in SYDNEY, Australia

The main duties and responsibilities for this role will include the following:

  • Qualifying leads and preparing proposals for groups & events across various market segments.

  • Undertaking hotel tours for clients, including entertainment when required.

  • Negotiating & contracting group & event business for the hotel.

  • Liaising with clients to coordinate all event requirements from start to finish, including billing and negotiating the type and costs of services provided within budget.

  • Responsible for completing administration and execution of all planned events.

  • Responding to inquiries concerning services provided and costs for room and equipment hire, catering, and related services.

  • Meeting with guests to discuss their needs and outlining package options.

  • Arranging and coordinating services such as conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation, transport, and social events for guests

  • Overseeing work by contractors and reporting on variations to work orders

  • Conducting seamless handovers to the Operational team to foster client relationships.

  • Communicating with culinary, event service, and other operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery.

  • Attending weekly event revenue meetings and operational meetings, promoting conferences, conventions, and trade shows.

  • Salary Range: 70K-75K

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of minimum experience ina similar role and environment

  • Experience in a luxury environment will be advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time management skills.

  • Committed to delivering events at an exceptional standard.

  • Proficiency in the English language with clear written & oral communication skills

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and identify key needs.

  • Competent selling skills and a desire to exceed sales targets.

  • Strong administrative & computer skills (knowledge of Opera will be an advantage)

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

  • The ability to create a positive first impression.

  • Immaculate grooming and personal presentation

  • Tertiary qualifications in event management or equivalent will be advantageous
