Empower Federal Credit Union Marketing Content Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

Role:


We are seeking a highly qualified Marketing Content Coordinator to support the marketing goals of Empower FCU. Based in Syracuse, New York, you will play a key role in shaping and sharing our brand's story by creating and managing content across various platforms to engage our audience. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and writing skills, prior experience in a range of marketing functions such as advertising, digital marketing, email marketing, social media management, search engine optimization (SEO), campaign management, and marketing analytics, and an interest in learning about credit union and/or financial industry marketing strategy and branding. This role also supports our broader marketing team in special events and community partnerships.

This hybrid role requires 5 on-site days per month at our Syracuse, NY office.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:



35%

Content Creation:
-Craft compelling written content across diverse platforms, ensuring alignment with Empower's brand identity and messaging standards.
-Demonstrate proficiency in contemporary SEO and conversion optimization techniques, specifically in crafting keyword-rich copy tailored for websites, landing pages, banners, and social media platforms.
-Write and edit copy for internal and external communications, maintaining consistency and effectiveness while adhering to SEO and conversion optimization principles.
-Interpret creative briefs to accurately capture project requirements and objectives.
-Collaborate closely with marketing and creative teams to shape and refine Empower's brand messaging.
-Conduct thorough target audience analysis and industry research to inform content strategy.
-Continuously optimize copy based on performance metrics, user feedback, and industry best practices.
-Review and refine copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and clarity, upholding the highest standards of quality.

Brand Voice & Messaging:
-Keep Empower's brand voice, tone, and messaging on point across all channels, ensuring a unified and impactful brand presence.
-Collaborate closely with the marketing and creative teams to shape and enhance Empower's brand messaging, crafting copy that resonates with our audience.
-Dive deep into target audience analysis and industry research, using insights to fuel our content strategy and messaging.

Digital Marketing Branding:
- Drive upgrades, edits, and changes to Empower's automated services, emphasizing consistency and excellence across all delivery channels.
- Champion website redesign and Salesforce product integration, ensuring a seamless user experience at every touchpoint.
- Amplify our social media presence, engaging and connecting with our membership like never before.
- Keep our members in the loop with Connect posts, updates, and rate adjustments, delivering timely and relevant content.
- Lead the charge on website updates, changes, and rate adjustments, keeping our online presence fresh and vibrant.
- Elevate our digital marketing efforts across the board, leveraging your expertise to boost engagement and drive results.

Proofreading & Editing:
- Review and edit copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and clarity. Ensure that all written content is error-free and meets the highest standards of quality.
- Provide training and support to team members on marketing copywriting best practices and tools

Events & Other Duties:
- Participates in staff training programs to stay current on credit union and industry trends.
- Understands credit union policies and procedures and ensures that all marketing communications conform to applicable regulatory and credit union standards.
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures.
- Assist the Marketing Department as needed for events, functions, and jobs as assigned to support and ensure the success of the department and, subsequently, the Credit Union.
- Champion Empower FCUs workplace culture and support internal clients as Marketing Content Coordinator!
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Some travel and participation in credit union events is required.

Copy Optimization:
-Continuously fine-tune copy based on performance metrics, user feedback, and industry best practices, using innovative testing methods to maximize effectiveness.
-Polish and perfect copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and clarity, ensuring flawless content that reflects Empower's commitment to excellence.

Collaborative Teamwork:
- Collaborate with marketing team members and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to marketing campaigns. Work closely with the creative team to align copy with visuals, ensuring a seamless and compelling member and employee experience.

Knowledge and Skills:


Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience including:
- 3-5 years' experience in writing retail catalog copy or similar writing capacities such as content creation
- Experience working in financial services industry preferred.
- Understanding of keyword research, Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Events planning and management skills are preferred
- Highly self-motivated and well organized.
- Up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends
- Demonstrates an exceptional sense of creativity
- Delivers out-of-the-box thinking and solutions
- Self-starter who thrives is a fast-paced environment
- Handles and prioritizes multiple projects
- Previous experience in social media management


Education

Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). Degrees in Writing, English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications and/or related work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information that may require some discussion. Other Skills

- Knowledge of job-related computer programs (Indesign, Photoshop, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to build strong relationships both inside and outside the credit union
- High level of problem-solving capabilities, curiosity, self-motivation, and adaptability
- Creativity and innovation for finding new and more efficient ways of doing things
- Excellent time management skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; desirable skills include graphic design, social media management, event planning and coordination, retail marketing, video creation and editing, as well as experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
