Helio Health Inc. Payroll Manager in Syracuse, New York

Overview

To support the mission of Helio Health, Inc. thePayroll Managerdirects the payroll functions, including, but not limited to payroll processing system, accuracy and timeliness of payroll functions and payroll auditing processes for around 1,500 individuals. The Payroll Manager will workFull-Timeout of our Executive Administration office in Syracuse, NY.

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for aSign-On Incentiveup to$1,500!

Pay Range:$75,000.00 - $85,000.00

Working Relationships

  • Reports to the Finance Director and keeps them informed regarding Payroll concerns and workload.

  • The Payroll Manager is required to provide supervision and oversight to the Payroll Team.

  • The Payroll Manager also works directly with the Financial Analyst, Sr. Financials Analyst, Accounting Manager – Accounts Receivable & Analytics, Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable, Finance Director, Director of H.R., CHRO and CFO

  • The Payroll Manager will also work with Programs and the H.R. team as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and directing payroll procedures.

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.

  • Ensures timely approval and processing of timecards, including correct allocations and coding.

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.

  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

  • Developing systems to process payroll transactions.

  • Ensures employee reimbursements are completed in a timely manner and processed through the payroll system.

  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

  • Supervising and coaching the payroll team.

  • Providing first-line customer service to employees regarding payroll questions, corrections, and changes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.

  • Three to five years of related experience required.

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficient with payroll software.
