SUNY Upstate Medical University Resuscitation Program Quality Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Resuscitation Program Quality Coordinator is an RN who co-chairs the Resuscitation Program and leads the effort in improving adherence to evidence-based care of patients who suffer in hospital cardiac arrest. This includes coordinating Resuscitation data of University Hospital, providing resuscitation education for nursing, extenders, and physicians, developing and implementing quality and research based corrective action plans, and facilitating and fostering outreach aspects associated with maintaining best practice and promotion of clinical success. This RN demonstrates leadership abilities, problem solving capabilities, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to function independently in a complex health care environment. The coordinator demonstrates the ability to sustain effective relationships with Nursing and other interdisciplinary colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible), Bachelor's degree, and three (3) years post-licensure clinical acute care RN experience (preferably in Critical Care). Consideration may be given to applicants who possess an Associate's degree in Nursing and five (5) years post-licensure clinical acute care RN experience (preferably in Critical Care). ACLS certification is required. CPR-BLS certification required. Familiarity with Get with the Guidelines data and data entry; experience with chart abstraction and data interpretation required.

Preferred Qualifications:

BSN preferred. Candidates with a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and similar programs preferred.
