The Information Systems team is responsible for implementation of the enterprise architecture and the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment. Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications.

This role in summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Technical Architect within the IT Department for our Consumer Experience Technology (CxT) function. The CxT function is responsible for Consumer Experience globally, and the technical architect is the owner of the architecture and solution design for the Seamless Commerce product lines and is accountable for defining the IT strategy and solution design for all the initiatives related to e-commerce and Digital Consumer Journey. The role ensures that the product line is maintained with a consistent solution design across the globe, ensuring fit-for-purpose capabilities, scalability of the solutions, and high replicability across markets and functions to deliver a Consumer data-driven approach across regions, markets, and functions.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Consults with product line owners to assess and anticipate relevant technical solution designs that address current and future product requirements;

  • Owns the solution design strategy and architectural choices in high alignment with the product line owner and the enterprise architecture team;

  • Builds and attracts world-class technology talent for the product team;

  • Collaborates with business partners and regional BU leaders to determine the right product architecture and solution design for the entire Consumer Data funnel;

  • oordinates with Product Line Owners and EA the definition of Whirlpool’s global Consumer architectural ecosystem and solution design;

  • Coordinates with the Security team to assess and review solutions design and overall compliance of the Consumer 360 and Seamless Commerce Environment;

  • Oversees CI/CD operations and guides continuous improvement efforts to drive efficiency and boost adoption;

  • Work with EA to produce technical specifications for the solution development and systems integration requirements;

  • Advice on best practices for CRM/e-commerce processes, user interface, and architecture;

  • Defines, tracks, and communicates solution design-specific KPIs to improve the solution/ecosystem performance, accuracy and value;

  • Works with other product owners to avoid duplication and identify interdependencies;

  • Map technical specifications of the proposed solution to the client architecture;

  • Implements industry standards and development methodologies, including Agile, CI/CD and DevSecOps, within the product line to increase its responsiveness and growth;

  • Acts as the point of contact for the product line and works closely with the other Product lines architects, Enterprise architecture leaders, and other regional IT leaders as required.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, business administration, or information systems;

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in end-to-end technology delivery, operations management, and/or business strategy;

  • 3+ years experience working on PIM, DAMS, WEB and Ecommerce solutions as Program Manager and/or solution Architect;

  • 3+ years experience working on Digital Ecosystem solutions as Program Manager and/or solution Architect;

  • Experience with System to System integrations and ERP based solutions;

  • Experience with ECommerce Ecosystems (HYBRIS, VTEX, HCL…) and CMS (Contentful, EZPublish, Magento…), DXPs, Monolithic and Headless implementations;

  • Experience working with consulting services industry or salesforce automation/project service automation solutions;

  • Certification and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, SOA, ITIL, COBIT, etc.);

  • Working knowledge of Public Cloud Providers: AWS and Google Cloud PlatformStrong business acumen; understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and an organization’s business goals;

  • Working Knowledge of Ecommerce platforms like SAP Hybris, VTEX, Salesforce Commerce, HCL Commerce;

  • Working Knowledge of Digital Analytics platforms like Google analytics or Adobe Analytics;

  • Deep exposure to business processes through experience working in partnership with business functions outside Corporate IT (e.g., with Sales, Marketing, D2C);

  • Ability to develop and deliver long-term strategy and technology roadmaps;

  • Ability to manage quality of service of the product KPIs;

  • Ability to effectively manage teams and maintain lines of communication through organizational change.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including C-level executives and business leaders;

  • Ability to influence without authority;

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter;

  • Knowledge of financial management and vendor management;

  • Knowledge of software engineering and architecture;

  • Knowledge of design thinking, Agile methodologies, and DevOps;

  • Experience in product management preferred;

  • Nice to have: knowledge of MarTech environment and solutions.
