Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in TALLADEGA, Alabama. As a Staff Accountant, you will work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for general ledger accounting, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bookkeeping. You will also be required to use Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including pivot tables.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions by applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including analytical work and thorough review of financial records
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner
• Preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations
• Conducting month-end close procedures to ensure timely financial reporting
• Utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel skills to create and manage pivot tables and other complex functions for data analysis and financial reporting
• Ensuring compliance with all internal processes and procedures as well as compliance with external regulations and guidelines
• Troubleshooting accounting issues as they arise and implementing effective solutions
• Collaborating with internal teams to improve financial procedures and ensure operational efficiency
Requirements • Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management, and Journal Entries.
• Demonstrable experience with Month End Close procedures.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
