DESCRIPTION: Do you have experience as a Business Analyst working in a TPA - third party administrator - organization or for a healthcare insurance organization like BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, etc.? We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst who is experienced in IT and Business Transformation projects and has worked in the health insurance industry for a third party administrator or large healthcare insurance organization and has excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are a third party administrator and need a Transformation Business / Systems Analyst for various business and IT systems transformational projects within our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Consult on systems and/or processes to offer solutions that improve, alter, refine, or expand current state operations.

  • Identifies, defines, and documents detailed business requirements from stakeholders.

  • Conducts needs assessment; collects information related to procedures, workflows, reports, and other business needs. Analyzes findings and determines client operational objectives.

  • Translates multiple perspectives into a requirements specification.

  • Documents end user requirements and creates workflow and process diagrams to support customer business needs and system functional needs

  • Manages peer reviews to validate the requirements and system design.

  • Writes, codes, and executes tests cases to confirm the system adheres to documented requirements.

  • Communicates test results and any requirement changes to project stakeholders.

  • Determines system utilization requirements by researching and testing systems.

  • Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.

  • May act as back-up for Project Manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Our business provides third party administration for over 80 different plans - health insurance plans, pension plans, etc. and insuring the functionality provided to those plan members. There are requirements around Taft Hartley that requires certain functionality and visibility into healthcare costs - copays, etc. A solid understanding of third party administrator (TPA) plans and Taft Hartley would be ideal.

What experience is ideally needed to be successful for this new role? Here are several of the qualifications we are seeking:

  • Experience in gathering and engaging in business process analysis and business transformation.

  • Proficient in writing business and functional requirements and drafting business workflows.

  • Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure related to compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum framework.

  • Flexibility and able to handle a variety of assignments in various stages at the same time

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain policies, procedures, and technical information clearly and accurately.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and proven business acumen.

  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the professional confidence to interface and work effectively with stakeholders across different parts of the business.

  • Computer proficiency including MS Office tools & applications and we-based systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma certification.

  • Experience working in health and welfare benefits, insurance, or third-party administrator environment.

  • Experience with Smartsheet and JIRA.
