Overview of the Position:

The Calibration Technician has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration checks on all inspection tools, precision test equipment used by the repair station and personal own tools.

  • Responsible for maintaining Calibration System.

  • Ensure recall list has been issued per QP-108.

  • Ensure that calibration system is accurate and updated.

  • Ensure that no expired items are carried over into the next month.

  • Ensure that calibration meetings are being held at a minimum of twice a month with production to prioritize calibration needs.

  • Maintain Calibration Environmental Control at all times as outlined in the Quality Procedures.

  • Ensure the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components, per established quality procedures as required.

  • If assigned, perform and document internal audits, per established quality procedures.

  • Focus on the situation, issue or behavior and maintain self-confidence and self-esteem of others.

  • Maintain constructive relationships with your employees, peers and managers at all times.

  • Other duties may also be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical Ability - Minimum of 1 years of experience. Be familiar with ANSI-Z540 and 14 CFR 145 requirements.

Education Requirements: 3 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret federal regulations, customer, engineering drawings, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals and sketches as required. Additional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals as required. The ability to utilize inspection type measuring tools.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 25 pounds.
