MUFG ACH Ops Governance Coordinator in Tempe, Arizona

The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

The ACH Operations Governance Coordinator will provide support to the governance/risk and compliance functions of the ACH/EDI Operations Team. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring the team stays in compliance with NACHA regulations, managing training programs, coordinating audit and control testing activities, as well as providing compliance/risk management support for various operational functions. This role will be responsible for creation/distribution of multiple reports, as well as development/implementation of statistical and analytical spreadsheets. This role coordinates special projects as assigned by the manager. Responsible for preparing and delivering presentations and participating in meetings with users to define and evaluate business problems.

Identify appropriate resources to assess risks, controls, and regulatory compliance issues and ensure a documented risk assessment review. Maintain and balance the associated GLs, WIP accounts for the ACH Operations team. Assist the Governance team with intra-team quality reviews, internal/external audit support, and general risk and compliance guidance.

(40%) ACH Account reconciliation – The Ops Governance Coordinator will be working with reconciliation software and will be responsible for the daily reconciliation of the ACH WIP accounts as well as settlement of ACH through various other GLs and accounts.

(30%) Intra-team Quality Audits – The Ops Governance Coordinator will work to ensure quality and compliance among the ACH/EDI team by auditing a sample of work for the various tasks completed by the Operations Team. They will be responsible for organizing the data and creating reports to provide leadership.

(10%) Audit/Control Testing Coordination & Support.

(10%) Governance Procedure/Controls Management (10%) Daily, Weekly & Monthly Analysis & Reporting.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports NACHA Compliance Management

  • Compliance Education/Training Management

  • Audit/Control Testing Coordination & Support

  • Intra-team Quality Audits/Reviews

  • Supports the effort to design and implement innovative and creative solutions based on business needs resulting in improved efficiencies. Delivers assigned initiatives on time and within scope.

  • Provides regular status updates including reporting obstacles or variances that cannot be resolved that would impede the delivery of the project on time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years working with ACH.

  • Minimum 2 years account reconciliation / GL balancing

  • Capable of handling business line initiatives with minimal support.

  • Has demonstrated priority setting, problem solving, negotiating, critical thinking, and conflict management skills.

  • Functional and operational organization skills required, including the ability to develop strong alliances at all levels within the organization.

  • Sound oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Sound decision making skills that demonstrate originality, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

  • Knowledge of Bank applications, Rumba and mainframe systems, as well as standard payment processes.

  • Ability to adapt to change and implement quickly based on overall direction and needs of the company.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and commitments concurrently.

  • Must be a self-starter and can work independently.

  • Ability to coordinate and direct activities of others.

  • Desire to stay abreast with banking industry trends.

  • Demonstrated customer focus, integrity, and knowledge of banking industry trends related to NACHA Rules and ACH/EDI Payment Risk.

Good to have:

  • Experience with Intellimatch system, PEP+ APRP or AAP certification, ACH and/or banking operations experience

The typical base pay range for this role is between $61K - $78K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
