This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at AMCOM, US ARMY TMDE ACT'Y, TMDE SPT REGION EAST, TOBYHANNA TSC, INTERNAL CAL LAB, TOBYHANNA, PA Responsibilities Select, apply, and interpret electronic principles and practices to collect, reduce, display, and analyze calibration data for a wide variety of complex general and special purpose Assist and advise users in the application of, and calibration requirements for test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment in support of their mission. Prepare calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated. Identify and document errors in existing procedures and provide information used for the development of technical documents used for test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment calibration and certification. Implement, adapt, modifies and develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator, WG-3378-11 Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex duties of troubleshooting techniques to repair test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment, interpret technical procedures and schematics; I am skilled in the use of instrument application, measurement accuracy, and calibration requirements for equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
