We’re looking for an Expert, Brand Creative Direction to join our Tokyo-based marketing team. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

As our Nike Brand Creative leader in Japan, you will direct the creative strategy and execution for our priority brand concepts, while driving the localization of our brand messaging.

You will define the tone of creativity needed to effectively connect with our consumer while determining the mix of creative disciplines required to answer marketing briefs and deliver on our brand objectives. This includes seeking consumer insights, extending global brand concepts for Japanese consumers and developing high-impact ideas for brand media and omni-channel experiences. You will run an end-to-end creative process for the marketing team, including reviews to ensure all brand creative meets our global brand standards.

You will contribute to strategic planning, and make presentations to drive inspiration and collaboration while attending meetings, ideating and communicating direction. You will be responsible for managing a budget with the Operations team and ensuring that we maximize our resources to deliver on time. Success will be measured based on increased brand strength, consumer engagement and business growth.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing Japan and be a member of the Japan Marketing Leadership Team.

You will lead the Nike Brand Creative function, working closely with the Jordan Brand Creative leader to drive brand impact, fuel consumer demand and build our long-term engagement with consumers. You will manage agency partnerships and professional services to meet the scope of local projects. You will also partner with our Japan Marketing leaders, the Asia-Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography and Global Brand Marketing teams across Nike to build more effective and efficient ways to drive brand impact.

Your key internal partners are Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Retail Marketing, Integrated Media, Brand Planning & Operations, Sports Marketing, Communications and Social & Community Impact. Your key external partners are local creative agencies, creative collectives, athletes, influencers and community leaders who will be working on or included in our storytelling.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or anything equivalent.

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in creative strategy and graphic design.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in Japanese and English).

  • High interest or background in design and brand storytelling across a range of consumer mediums.

  • A strong portfolio of creative work, exhibiting your background across creative disciplines.

  • Knowledge of narrative, messaging, layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital and experience production.

  • A proven ability to collaborate across internal and external partnerships.

  • Domestic and international travel required for local production and experience activation for 20% of the time.
