Planting of transplants in field and greenhouses. Cultivation of field and greenhouse crops.
Harvesting of vegetables and small fruits by hand and with supplied tools and equipment.
Washing, packing, sorting vegetables and small fruits for distribution to markets and wholesale
customers. Duties may include, weeding (by hand or with supplied tools), setting up/breaking
down irrigation systems and deer fencing; laying out and taking up row cover. Cleaning harvest
supplies and containers. Loading coolers and trucks with harvested produce. Work is done in
all weather conditions; generally outside or in packing shed and greenhouses. Work requires
the ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds; work at repetitive tasks for long periods
of time; work from bending, stooping, kneeling and standing positions. We require basic
understanding of English communication for safety instructions. 2 months experience in duties
listed required.
