Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team at the top pension client. This team seeks a senior data Engineer to work on Data Service Applications for Public Markets and Alternative Assets. The selected candidate will support the investment department by providing data, performing data transformation, working on internal data for data lakes, and supporting live trading for data consumption. 30% of the role is working as L3 support for optimization of the applications. his is a hybrid role where candidates are required to go into office mandatory 3 days/week at their downtown Toronto location.
Role Overview:
Design and implement the data model and enriched strategy neutral data.
Design and implement the data service using Amazon Web Service (AWS)
Design and implement data related tools and analytics, in addition to operational processes.
Address daily data exceptions on a timely basis and provide L3 operation support.
Stay current with new data vendor product offerings and how they might be used by the quantitative investment groups.
Manage and enhance investment data infrastructure through initiatives such as improving metadata and data integrity
Work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with business users, engineers, architects, researchers, and data scientists.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
Strong Backend software development experience with Python, SQL and Pyspark
Strong Cloud (AWS) Experience
Experience with EMR Cluster, AWS Glue and Apache Airflow
Strong Microservices
API Gateway, RESTful APIs & Load balancer experience
Hands on experience with CI/CD pipeline using Terraform, Jenkins, Github actions, Gitflow Nice to Have:
Financial Institution experience or CFA, for understanding business terminology
