As we expand to new markets and transform our supply chain worldwide it is critical we have compliance policies and performance programs in place to reduce supply chain defects, minimize costs and improve promise for our customers. We are seeking a bright and driven leader to help drive and build on this strategic vision.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Manager on the Supplier Performance team, you lead a team of talented engineers in design, development, test and launch of new features and products. You will collaborate with your stakeholders, manage a roadmap, and deliver results. You understand the products and systems your team owns, their limitations and reasons behind architectural decisions. As a leader on the team, you will be expected to operate at all levels, diving deep into the details while providing strategic inputs for the product. You provide and support high-quality engineering best practices. You appropriately allocate engineer time towards improving quality and reducing technical debt. The role will require you to have strong writing skills, project management skills, and understanding of your business domain.

Toronto, ON, CAN

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
