System One Safety Administrator or Specialist in Torrance, California

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Administrator for a progressive, fast paced children’s medical device manufacturer.

The Environmental Health, and Safety Administrator implements policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment with the coordination and support of the Management Team. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

  • Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace violence and safety, first aid and all other required topics for all personnel.

  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures and maintain reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate the development of a Safety Team and hold regularly scheduled Safety Meetings.

  • Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

  • Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, a schedule of routine inspections and complete regular facility inspections.

  • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.

  • Ensure that material safety data sheets (MSDS) are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

  • Maintain records of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

  • Oversee annual evacuation drills.

  • Oversee requested building inspections, e.g. property manager, fire department, and coordinate requested improvements for compliance.

  • Stay up to date on relevant health and safety regulations.

  • Manage Cal/OSHA and OSHA requirements.

  • Other issues as required.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field certification preferred.

  • 3-5 years of related experience preferred.

  • Must be bilingual English/Spanish speaking.

  • Knowledge of safety training requirements.

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar.
