Assistant Manager of Facilities The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking anAssistant Manager of Facilities. This position is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer. The Assistant Manager of Facilities oversees the daily operations of physical facilities and property in accordance with Rescue Mission policies and procedures. This will include supervising and evaluating staff, maintaining program policy and ensuring facility security. What it’s like to work at the Rescue Mission of Trenton: Rescue Mission of Trenton was founded in 1915 and is a non-profit organization that helps rescue people from themselves and their situations. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here. We value dignity, communication and helping each of our clients reach their full potential. Clients/residents are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, job placement, financial planning, education, counseling and mental health treatment. Our staff works diligently with the clients to get ID, an income and the things necessary to help them with transitioning to housing. Qualifications For Position: Excellent relationship-building/people skills, communication skills, organizational skills Able to work independently Computer skills Microsoft Word and Excel), Machine tools and equipment (Hand and power tools forklift and jack). Bachelor’s degree in business administrative or related field required At least 5 years of experience in facilities operation, warehousing, trucking, maintenance or other related area Must be a critical thinker, able to visualize and troubleshoot problems. Must have a valid driver’s license Physical Facilities:
  • Supervise and evaluate facility operations and maintenance.

  • Oversee regular preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities, use power tools, electric meters and handle equipment in performing duties.

  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of machines and equipment.

  • Be sure that repairs are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Represent the Rescue Mission in conducting business with vendors, suppliers, and customers.

  • Coordinate projects and timelines with vendors.

  • Knowledge of contracts and service or equipment estimates.

  • Must be sure all facilities are safe and operating properly.

  • Client, staff and customer safety and adherence to all applicable building, fire, safety and sanitary codes is important for this role.

  • You must be able to prepare safety drills, tour the physical facility daily to ensure they are safe and in working condition, detect faulty operations, defective material and report those to proper supervisor.

  • Clean and maintain orderly work areas are a must, overseeing inventory of all hand tools and power tools and that they are maintained, and are on-call for all facility emergencies and first responder alarms.

  • Other duties as assigned
