Evergreen Natural Resources Preventative Maintenance Mechanic in Trinidad, Colorado
We are seeking a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As an automotive PM Mechanic you will play a critical role in helping maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles, trailers, mobile and portable equipment.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Preventative maintenance role where the person is skilled in Automotive mechanics, servicing and repairing various automobiles and related equipment.
Job Summary: Performs duties as needed in maintaining and repairing Company automotive vehicles and equipment; controls operating expenses, works with procurement to maintain adequate supplies and inventory, and to keep garage in proper order so that Company vehicles have little down time.
Job Duties: Performs scheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on Light trucks, heavy trucks, trailers, and other various equipment to ensure proper servicing and maintenance of Company vehicles and equipment, including oil and air filter changes on gasoline and diesel engines, lubrication and fluid checks.
Uses proper procedure when lifting and lowering vehicles, removing wheels, proper tightening, and troubleshooting problems with front-end wear and alignments.
Knows proper tire sizes and tread patterns for best usage for different types of vehicles in field. Performs tire rotations, replacement, repairs, and balances various tires.
Troubleshoots, removes, replaces, and repairs brake systems on all vehicles.
Removes and repairs front and rear drive-line components (e.g., front/rear axles, C.V. Joints, bearings shocks, idlers, etc.).
Works in variety of electrical areas on automobiles and equipment, including basic wiring of pickups and engines; interior and exterior lighting; installing trailer wiring and brakes; utility bed wiring; installing and maintaining 24-volt systems.
Provides servicing and maintenance on heavy equipment and trailers.
Keeps records on all services performed.
Uses service manuals for troubleshooting, wiring, and disassembly; uses parts books; works well with parts departments for ordering correct replacement parts, stocking, and inventory coding.
Cleans and Maintains shop area and equipment.
Understands wiring, pneumatics, and hydraulics for maintaining safe operations of shop lifts, air tools, jacks, pumps, and electrical tools.
Performs minor tune-ups and trouble shoots engine problems and performance; includes items relating to ignition systems, fuel pumps, wiring, computers, exhaust, sensors, and fuel injection systems.
Exercises good judgment and courtesy in scheduling maintenance and repairs.
Supports and demonstrates all HSE policies at all times.
Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times.
Fills out time sheets, daily work sheets, driver logs.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Works on less difficult repairs.
Stops work due to unsafe conditions or situations.
Works closely with other Automotive Mechanics and Automotive Technicians to learn and further their professional development to become an experienced Automotive Mechanic.
Takes direction from Supervisor and/or Senior Mechanics.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High School education or equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program in automotive mechanics or a related field is preferred.
General knowledge of automotive vehicles and the mechanics of the vehicle components.
Able to demonstrate competence & knowledge of aspects of job.
Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical information and procedures to others. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, operators, and other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
Valid vehicle operator's license and clean driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL.
Basic computer skills required with a familiarity of the MS Office suite of products.
Able to stand; walk; use of hands nd fingers, handle, or feel; reach overhead with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Able to regularly move/lift to 50 lbs. and occasionally move/lift up to 100 lbs
