Actalent Aircraft Technician in Trumbull, Connecticut

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft to ensure safe and efficient operation. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspections, repairs, and replacements of aircraft components

  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify and correct technical issues

  • Inspect and test aircraft systems, including engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems

  • Collaborate with other technicians and mechanics to complete complex maintenance tasks

  • Document all maintenance activities and repairs in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in safety training and adhere to company safety policies

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company standards for cleanliness and housekeeping

Requirements:

  • A.A.S. or A.S. degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (or equivalent military experience)

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and industry standards

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific aircraft types (e.g. Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier)

  • Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software

  • Experience with aircraft maintenance management software

  • Certified Quality Control Inspector (CQCI) or willingness to obtain certification
