The
CDLDriver reports directly to Vice-President of Student Affairs / Chief Operating Officer. This position is responsible for safely and responsibly transporting students, faculty, and staff to and from predetermined destinations on The Universitys Golden Tiger Transit System route.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform vehicle pre-route inspection prior to departure and post-route inspection after completion of route
- Safely transport passengers
- Complete assigned designated Tuskegee Golden Tiger Transit bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
- Assist as needed with embarking and disembarking
- Report all mechanical issues to the service manager immediately
- Obey all traffic laws
- Maintain a clean and sanitary bus at all times
- Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times
- Informing clients and TU Management of potential delays
- Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- A valid State of Alabama CDLLicense with Class A, B, C and Endorsement P License pursuant to 32.6.-49.10 Code of Alabama, 1975
- 5 years professional driving on the road (preferred)
- Air Brake certification (preferred)
- Less than 3 points on your license (preferred)

Skills and Attributes
- Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes
- Comfortable using GPSequipment
- Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck
- Compliance with all road and transport rules
- Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day
- High quality time management interpersonal, and attention to detail skills
- Availability to occasionally work nights and weekends, if needed
