About the Program

BT Business is excited to introduce its second Career Returners program – Restart – in partnership with Women Returners. We support experienced professionals of all genders returning to work after a career break of 18 months or more. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to start in September 2024. We currently have the following vacancy in our Major Government Sales function, Corporate and Public Sector team. Our Corporate and Public Sector (CPS), sell products and services to businesses with 250+ employees including major corporate business and multi nationals, government, health and defence.

This team look after the largest public sector customers including central government departments, the defence sector, nuclear establishments and police forces. Selling a mixture of complex managed solutions in addition to our standard products and services through a variety of procurement routes. The largest sales are made through complex formal tenders and the more standardised products are sold using a growing portfolio of government frameworks.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a passionate Business Development Manager to join our Major Government team.

If you love driving technology sales opportunities, using data to tell compelling stories, and engaging with stakeholders, this role is for you.

In this role you’ll

  • Develop an incremental pipeline of opportunities for Technology Products and Associated Services that align to the core government frameworks that BT has a presence on

  • Promoting awareness of BT’s presence on frameworks to the customer base and internal colleagues

  • Qualifying the pipeline of incremental opportunities developed to ensure an alignment to BT’s capabilities and an understanding of specific deliverables required for BT to win

  • Own a specific sales target for incremental business to be closed in year

  • Own responsibility to feedback to the product owners of the core products and services to ensure alignment of our capabilities to the addressable markets through the framework(s).
