The targeted hiring range for this Area Retail Manager position is $62,964 to $88,192 plus commission depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for the overall model operations of his/her Red Wing Shoe Store by selling profitably, controlling expenses, managing accounts receivable process, developing new business, managing inventory and merchandising. Manage all store personnel in the areas of recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance management. Responsible for training of sales related and business operations for retail store and industrial center personnel within the market area. Provide managerial support to stores in market area as needed. Assist the ROM in developing and implementing plans to coordinate Retail/Industrial store activities in order to enhance the sales and image of Red Wing Shoe Company by making regular visits to assigned stores and troubleshoot where necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inter-store transfers, payment collections, and follow up as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Analyze monthly financial statements (P&L) while adjusting operating expenses to ensure store profitability
  • Manage monthly labor model as defined by monthly labor and sales budgets
  • Uphold RWSC merchandising and brand standards to ensure store presentation requirements are met
  • Manage inventory levels and accuracy by completing style counts, monthly wall counts, product assortment reviews
  • Lead by example by guiding each customer through RWSC's Ultimate Fit Experience
  • Manage all store personnel in the areas of recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance management
  • Responsible for training of sales related and business operations for retail store personnel within market area
  • Provide managerial support to stores in market area as needed
  • Assist Region Operations Manager in developing and implementing plans to coordinate store activities in order to enhance sales and image of Red Wing Shoe Company by making regular visits to assigned stores and troubleshoot where necessary

  • Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSC's electronic communication software
  • Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Retail/Industrial business or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Two to five years of retail management experience
  • Results oriented
  • Effective Written/Verbal Communication
  • Computer Utilization
  • Retail experience

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES

  • Two or more years of multi-store management responsibility
  • Profit and loss accountability
  • Operational excellence

  • Team and collaboration orientation

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft WORD, Outlook, with proficiency in Excel
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Personal credit card for reimbursable expenses

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lifting 50 pounds, bending/squatting to lace shoes, overhead lifting, twisting, climbing a ladder, standing for long periods of time
  • Travel to assigned stores within market area and to attend training and business meetings
  • Housekeeping duties including but not limited to: vacuuming, mopping & waxing floors, washing windows, use of disinfectant chemicals, discarding of all trash, maintaining recycling, installing, and maintaining furniture, fixtures, and displays.
