JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Engineering and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-line position at the level of Assistant Research Professor as a part of a University-wide initiative to integrate nanoscale engineering with precision health. This position will advance new technologies for imaging-guided gene editing and will apply these platforms to translational research in immuno-engineering.

This position will be in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (https://www.bme.psu.edu/) (BME) and affiliated with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences (https://www.huck.psu.edu/) . The Penn State BME Department and Huck Institutes provide a rich environment in which faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate/undergraduate students regularly interact and conduct collaborative studies. Affiliated faculty, staff, and students have access to the Institutes’ state-of-the-art core facilities.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, or a related discipline by the appointment start date. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in molecular self-assembly, bioimaging, and/or immunology. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as be able to work with multiple labs across colleges on a wide array of research areas in theranostic devices.
