AP Staff Accountant
The AP Staff Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable related obligations of the Company, weekly payment runs and preparation of financial information including standard periodic financial reports. All duties are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additional responsibilities include the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings and managing the Company Amex credit card program along with Concur expense report processing and administration.
Essential Functions
Accounts Payable
Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services, code, process and post invoices to NetSuite
Manage all Company credit cards, own the relationship with Amex, upload and code company credit card transactions
Manage the weekly payment run/ACH/Wires, cash management across multiple bank accounts
Daily bank reconciliations
Set-up and maintain vendor files (W-9’s)
Annual 1099 reporting
T&E expense reporting system processor and administrator (Concur)
Works closely with personnel in other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Manage the purchase order system and drive process improvements.
Other duties as assigned
Accounting
Pre-paid accounts - prepare monthly journal entries from related reconciliations
Monthly Use Tax accrual
Month end vendor accruals
Enter and post daily outgoing cash transactions into NetSuite
Prepare monthly GL account reconciliations resolving any variances in a timely manner
Benefit reconciliations
Prepare journal entries on a daily basis. Post journal entries to the general ledger using NetSuite accounting software
Check financial general ledger entries and financial reports for accuracy
Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits by the Company’s external auditors
Calculate monthly commissions using Incent for payroll processing
Adhoc requests
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of one to five years accounting experience, preferably in a high-technology fast paced growth company
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business preferred but not necessary
General understanding and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge of financial reporting systems required. (NetSuite experience preferred)
Pro-active organized with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Good decision making and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills (strong collaborator with employees and vendors)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with MSFT Office with strong proficiency with excel
