Avtron Power Solutions LLC seeks Senior Mechanical Engineer & Team Lead at its facility located at 9450 Allen Drive, Suite B, Cleveland, OH 44125.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plan, manage, and coordinate the engineering design work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out the complex design of load banks for testing back up power systems. Interpret customer supplied specifications, drawings and one-line diagrams for quotation and cost estimate purposes. Provide engineering project management including new product development. Design and develop the best cost/performance product that meets or exceeds customer requirements. Collaborate with the drafting department to create a detailed design package consisting of enclosures, sheet metal, mechanical assemblies, and bills of material. Collaborate with cross functional team to conduct feasibility study, generate specifications, and schedule standard product line development programs through engineering. Complete seismic, wind and vibration calculations to support equipment design to IBC and specific customer requirements. Produce modern, reliable, and cost-effective designs. Generate any test procedures and technical manuals required with the product. Support the Field Service department in the installation and troubleshooting of load banks in the field. Support the maintenance of documentation via engineering change procedures. Prepare engineering submittals for filing product with UL and CSA agencies to obtain approvals. Direct third-party product certification and testing where required and act as a liaison to third party certifiers. Point of Contact for inspectors' questions in manufacturing plants and handles any variations. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Application Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: 1) Utilizing AutoCAD modeling software for design andor concept development. 2) Utilizing 3D CAD software for analysis of vendor's or customer's models. 3) Utilizing Pro/Engineer or other 3D CAD software for 3D solid modelling for product design or concept development. 4) Utilizing Ansys for Structural and Heat transfer analysis for product design or concept developmentvalidation. 5) Utilizing Thermodynamics principles and knowledge for appropriate heat dissipation. 6) Managing Engineering data using Product Life Cycle Management software (PLM) such as Windchill PLM. 7) Applying Electrical network analysis knowledge for analysis and preparation of electromechanical diagrams. 8) Performing thermal heat load calculations for cooling fan selection.
