Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution (LSMD) - located in Vienna, Ohio is part of the Carpenter Technology Corporation organization, serves North America's tooling customers with the broadest range of products, the most extensive value-added services, and unmatched metallurgical expertise in the industry. With locations in the US and Canada, LSD inventories more than 60 specialty alloys for some of the most demanding applications. Extensive value-added capabilities include production sawing, CNC high-speed precision sawing, CNC lathe turning, milling, grinding, heat treating, and hollow boring. EH&S - SPECIALIST PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE EH&S SPECIALIST Works with direction in providing input to departmental resources on EH&S related matters. Provides support in implementation of measures to help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials. Investigates accidents to identify root causes and reports results to management. Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Supports engineers/management in the institution of control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment. Participates in multi-discipline problem solving teams. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIRED FOR THE EH&S SPECIALIST Two-year college degree in a related safety science field, engineering, or manufacturing required. 0-2 years of safety or manufacturing experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Problem solving - Experience solving issues that are similar to each other and have a limited number of predefined solutions. Standing procedures/plans and/or a structure routine directs the problem-solving process.
