Job Description

Reporting into the Global Presales team, the Senior Bid Manager will be dedicated to managing complex bids for managed services opportunities with existing and prospective customers. We have a well-defined global bid process, but need an experienced Bid Manager to join the team with excellent organisational, planning and communication skills. The Senior Bid Manager will work together with Sales and Presales teams, and stakeholders from all departments, in order to produce professional, winning responses to complex Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to opportunity qualification (bid or no bid decisions) based on NCR Atleos service capabilities and win probability

  • Manage complex bids, from initial bid qualification through to contract closure and handover into delivery / operations

  • Lead the virtual bid team, working cross functionally with supporting business units, coordinating all bid activity and governance

  • Build the end-to-end proposal, ensuring customer focus and clear articulation of the NCR Atleos value proposition, using APMP best practice principles

  • Create high quality graphics including clean, simple diagrams and/or visuals to enhance the NCR Atleos offering

  • Ensure that the bid has appropriate sign off before being submitted, including formal financial and commercial governance has been followed

  • Manage and refresh reusable bid content, such as bid / proposal templates and the internal Wiki database

  • Manage the Presales Central Library SharePoint site, working closely with the Presales and Transition Leadership team

  • Coach and mentor junior Bid Management colleague(s), sharing advice and guidance based on experience and APMP best practice principles

  • Lead and contribute to business improvement initiatives, with a key focus on digital innovation and process automation.

Skills / Experiences

  • Good understanding of the Telecoms marketplace, including enterprise networks and baseline cloud concepts

  • Experience working as a Bid Manager, managing complex, high $value and high-profile bids with senior exec level visibility

  • Ideally APMP qualified to Foundation level (as a minimum). If not formally qualified, then demonstrable experience of a structured approach to Bid Management

  • Experience of working with international teams and customers, as many of our opportunities are global in nature

  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally, up to and including senior Exec level stakeholders

  • Can proof-read any bid documents including legal contracts and add value to the bid team picking up on key areas to promote and highlight any key business risks

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong team player, can inspire others and a good listener – mentor / coach

  • Significant experience of using the Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint and/or similar cloud storage

  • Can handle the pressure that comes naturally with bid deadlines.
