Ford Motor Company SAP Basis & Security Supervisor in Mexico
Join our newly established Global SAP Enterprise Platform Team, a dynamic group responsible for managing the platform services of all SAP applications. Our team oversees a wide range of critical functions, including architecture, testing, cutover activities, license and contract management, Basis, security, and controls, among others.
Our diverse team is composed of Ford employees, agencies, and purchase service resources spread across the EU, India, Mexico, and the US. We manage several major SAP applications such as Integrated ERP (I-ERP), Part Supply and Logistics (PS&L) in Europe, North America and IMG, and various other applications like VFS, REMAN, and GLADS. Additionally, we are excited to be launching new applications like Material Resource Planning (MRP, formerly CMMS3) and Ford Component Sales (FCS).
Our SAP landscape is extensive, encompassing multiple modules and technologies. We operate in diverse environments with varying hosting strategies, including S4/Hana on GCP, on-premises, ECC, S4/EWM, FI, SCM, CRM, MM, TM, GRC, Solman, and more.

The posted position will be part of the Foundational Service team, responsible for all SAP Basis, Security and Controls across all SAP applications. The team currently comprises one LL6 in Germany, three LL6s in the US, and several resources in Chennai, Germany, and the US. This new role will be the 5th LL6 position, based in Mexico.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and leading a new team of multiple GSRs in Mexico, while also taking on functional reporting responsibilities for some resources based in Chennai. Your direct manager will be located in Germany.
Your primary objective will be to create a new Shared Service for SAP Basis and Security & Controls (SnC) that will support the existing dedicated Basis and SnC teams. You will build this new team on the foundation of the Chennai resources who already possess some application and SAP expertise.
You will be tasked with streamlining & documenting processes across the various dedicated teams to enhance the efficiency of your Shared Service team and alleviate the workload of the existing teams.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking an experienced professional with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus). The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in SAP Basis and Security & Controls, with a proven track record of leading and managing IT teams in a global or multi-location setting.
The candidate should possess strong technical skills in SAP Basis administration and Security & Controls, as well as familiarity with various SAP modules and technologies. Excellent leadership, project management, and process management skills are essential, along with strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
The candidate must be adaptable, willing to continuously learn, and stay updated with the latest SAP trends. This role requires the candidate to be based in Mexico, manage functional reporting for resources in Chennai, and be available to travel as needed.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SAP Basis and Security & Controls.
Minimum of 2 years proven experience in leading and managing IT teams, preferably in a global or multi-location setting.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong understanding of SAP Security & Controls, including roles, authorizations, and compliance.
Familiarity with various SAP modules and technologies such as S4/HANA, ECC, FI, SCM, CRM, MM, TM, GRC, and Solman.
Leadership and Management:
Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team, with experience in team formation and development.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing IT projects.
Excellent organizational and process management skills, with the ability to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
