Later this year, Auckland will welcome New Zealand’s first Hotel Indigo to the neighbourhood, drawing inspiration from local artists for its design, service, amenities, food and beverage. The 225-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in Auckland Central, with stunning views of the city and Auckland’s iconic harbour.

We’re on the lookout for a couple of passionate Front Office Supervisors to help bring Hotel Indigo Auckland to life. These roles will support the Front Office leadership team to help establish the Front Office department and support all aspects of hotel operations on shift to enable the delivery of a unique guest experience that brings the brand to life. The hotel team will work closely together, so you’ll be a team player and happy to support all areas of the hotel as needed. Once the hotel opens, you’ll play a key role in daily operations within Front Office.

Ideally these roles will start in September, subject to the completion of the hotel’s construction phases.

A little taste of your day-to-day

  • Being part of history! As part of this pre-opening team you will be part of setting this beautiful new hotel up ready to receive its first guests

  • Help and support the set-up of the Front Office department with regards to operational requirements and team development

  • Once the hotel opens, transitioning to operational responsibilities such as:

  • Kicking off truly memorable guest experiences with the warmest of welcomes

  • Acknowledging IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests in person or over the phone

  • Taking, managing, and receiving payments for guest bookings

  • Making the check-in and check-out process feel swift and seamless

  • Staying one step of our guests’ needs to anticipate requests and offer tailored recommendations

  • Being our guests’ trusted contact – helping with everything from bill issues to restaurant recommendations

What we need from you

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • A demonstrated reputation for being a positive team player, with a passion for guest experience

  • Previous reception experience within a hotel, and a desire to step up and grow into a leadership position

  • A proactive, solutions focused attitude

  • Experience with hotel property management systems and an understanding of hotel operations

  • A qualification in hotel management or related field is beneficial, but not essential
